Week 2: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 8 (2/16): Preparing for a fun day of visitors - the Martins, the Marrs, Sharon and the Blancos

Day 9 (2/17): Falling asleep during activity time after a fun day with Aunt Devon and Gigi

Day 10 (2/18): Little smile, maybe?

Day 11 (2/19): Thanks for the new hat, Gigi.

Day 12 (2/20): Fighting sleep during activity time with Dad

Day 13 (2/21): Can you see my dimple? A little?

Day 14 (2/22): It's a hard knock life... on the way to the pediatrician

Likes: 

• Classical music (Austin got tons of Baby Einstein for her)
• Boudreax's Butt Paste (someone has a little rash...)
• Activity Mats - she loves 'em; we got another for downstairs
• Her sound machine
• Nightgowns/sleep sacks
• Zip-up PJs
• Car rides (although she gets fussy at red lights... so car rides so long as the car is in motion at all times)
• Being read to
• Being swaddled

Dislikes:

• Socks
• Keeping her changing table clean (we have done so much laundry)
• Waiting... especially for food, or for you to change her diaper 

Milestones: 

• She celebrated her parents five-year wedding anniversary on Saturday, February 16, her first family holiday
• Her umbilical cord fell off on Sunday, February 17
• Her second pediatrician appointment was on Friday, February 22, at 2 p.m. - she is back to her birth weight - 8.1!

Loving Little Me

The Little Me brand fits Beckett so good! She's still in Newborn size (which we didn't entirely expect!), and the Little Me outfits fit her perfect. She wore one home from the hospital, and here is another one - love the footed jams. It also comes with a matching hat, but we take it off during activity time to try to keep her awake!

Beckett LOVES her mat, spending hours just staring up at the little animals that hang from it. It's beeen great for her activity time, and for family time as we like to get down there with her and see what she's seeing - she's just fascinated!

Milestone Day

We can't believe it's been 5 years since our wedding! And now we've had Beckett for 8 days. What a special day!

Week 1: 7 Days of Beckett

These are all just home photos we've been taking over the last few days. Her Mimi photographed her sponge bath on Day 5, she's wearing an outfit from Aunt Devie on Day 6, and she's taking a bottle from Gigi on Day 7.

Day 1 (2/9): Beckett Meets her Family- Mimi, Papa, Uncle E, Gigi, Aunt Devie, Uncle Z

Day 2 (2/10): Beckett Goes Home to Her New Life and meets her fur siblings

Day 3 (2/11): Beckett Loves an Early Hands Free Swaddle

Day 6 (2/14): Beckett celebrates Valentine's Day in the cutest outfit thanks to Aunt Devie and Uncle Z

Day 7 (2/15): Gigi visits and gives Beckett bottled mom milk - she loves it!

Likes:

• Eating, preferably mom's milk so she doesn't spit up so much 
• Sleeping Music (seemed to really perk up for The Beatles and Jamariaui) 
• Sunlight
•  Being very, very warm and clothed 
• Stretching out her long legs 
• Retracting her long legs into a ball when it's time for a diaper change
• Having her picture taken 
• The cross-cradle hold or on-the-knees hold 
• Skin-on-skin time
• Sucking on her fingers
• Activity time with Dad 
• Her swing 

Dislikes:

• Being burped
• Mittens 
• Diaper Changes 
• Being naked (so clothing changes)

• When her hat doesn't stay on right 

Milestones::

• Her first car ride was on Sunday, February 10, at midnight
• Her first pediatrician visit was on Monday, February 11, at 2 p.m. 
• Her first sponge bath was Wednesday, February 13 
• Her first holiday was Valentine's Day on Thursday, February 14

Day 2: Pro Shots Thanks to Uncle Z

Uncle Zach came to the hospital on BG's second day with us and took the most beautiful pictures of our families celebrating her arrival. We can't thank you enough, Zach! You're so talented and we appreciate you taking the time to come over and get these shots of such a special day in your niece's life.

22 Weeks: BG shows up for  an Auburn team who didn't. ugh.

23 Weeks: BG visits Vegas, learns about Jive's social platform and sees her second cirque show

24 Weeks: BG enjoys seeing her nursery come along after a busy week of painting and shopping

25 Weeks: BG visits a MUCH colder Auburn forcing her to get lost inside one of her dad's sweaters. While the temperature had changed, the Auburn team had not . . . yet another loss.

26 Weeks: BG gets her name, Beckett Grace Martin, and celebrates with her family and friends  at her first shower - special thanks to Aunt Devon and Uncle Zach!

27 Weeks: BG attends her fourth  Auburn game, continuing to witness a bizarrely dismal dismal season, but having good times with her Auburn peeps and UGA family

28 Weeks: BG celebrates Thanksgiving and enjoys a family baby shower, complete with an adorable cake for her mom and dad, followed by a fun family weekend in Auburn

29 Weeks: BG appears in family maternity pictures with her fur siblings, Reuben and Remy

30 Weeks: BG enjoys a family dinner with her Papa Paul and Mimi Michelle, then celebrates her future friend Lee's February arrival at Laura Anne's baby shower before having SEC football night at the Blanco's

31 Weeks: BG enjoys a Birmingham baby shower thanks to her Poppa Paul, Mimi Michelle and wonderful friends who showered her with thoughtful gifts and keepsakes\

32 Weeks: BG attends the Veloti  annual Tacky Sweater Christmas party where her mom ate too many Buckeyes as always (but yet avoided the vodka gummy bears)

33 Weeks: BG attends a family-filled weekend in Birmingham for the Christmas holidays with the Martins,  followed by Christmas in Atlanta with the Porters

34 Weeks: BG celebrates the arrival of her birth year at a New Year's Eve dinner with friends (as well as her buddy Lee who is scheduled to arrive 2 weeks after her)

35 Weeks: BG "worked" backstage at a company event at the Georgia World Congress Center. In truth, she didn't really help out that much but did cause swollen feet the size of baked potatoes and made fast friends with the bathroom attendant.  

36 Weeks: BG spent the week enjoying home improvement projects, including  painting, rearranging furniture,  new TV/furniture, etc., then the weekend in bed with her best gal pal Remy

37 Weeks: BG enjoyed a baby shower at the office with her work family where her 'orange' was everywhere! Special thanks to AutoTrader.com's Communication  & Creative Services team for such a fun event!

38 Weeks: BG enjoyed life as a hermit crab, working from home, completing more home updates,  having family game night and writing thank you cards despite the new pregnancy related onset of carpal tunnel

39 Weeks + 4 Days: BG's fur siblings anxiously await her arrival in what turned out to be the night before her debut
