Week 41: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 281; 11/16; Becks and Dada on the Plains

Day 282; 11/17 Beckett helps Mama & Dada unload the dishwasher

Day 283 (11/18); Teething Beckett is sad - those 4 new teeth are giving her pain!

Day 284 (11/19);  cutie girl LOVES pulling up on her couch

Day 285 (11/20); Beckett & the puppers - she can't get enough of them but is starting to scare them with her increased mobility :(

Day 286 (11/21); sleepy girl eating her bedtime bottle with dad

Day 287 (11/22); Beckett and her favorite - the remote!

Another great week with baby girl! She is everywhere, all the time - continuing to pull up on everything, go after remote controls, obsess over getting to the dishwasher before I close it, watching the poodles whether they're outside or gated or trying to relax on the couch and just being the curious, independent little girl we've come to know her as!

Likes:

• her big knob puzzle
• her activity table
• her purse that teaches her open and shut; she especially likes the crinkley money
• any and all teethers, especially this little blue circle that goes with her bath toys
• turning pages
• her activity books, especially the feathers on Pat the Zoo
• eating paper (sigh)
• playing with remote controls and iPhones
• going through toy and book bins - she stands up on the side of them and is SO proud of herself

Dislikes:

• having her diaper changed
• being slowed down
• having thing (like the aforementioned paper) removed from her mouth
• car rides - we HAVE to sing to her or play recordings of our singing or she will scream the whole way to wherever after about 15 minutes (rides under 15 minutes are pleasant!)
• pears as finger foods - doesn't seem to like the texture, much prefers banana, avocado, cheese and sweet potato

Her Week in a Nutshell:

• Saturday: spent the day on the plains tailgating, then the afternoon/evening at the Cardens
• Sunday: drove home early then enjoyed family day at the house!
• Monday: infant room with Andrea at gym; afternoon errands to Marshall's, Carter's and Total Wine & More with Mimi who came for a quick overnight visit
• Tuesday: morning with Mimi; afternoon at home with Mommy
• Wednesday: infant room with Andrea at gym; visit from Miss Sharon; visit to Miss Shana's to see new baby girl Marcella and to play with 2-year-old Billy & his instruments and trains
• Thursday: shopping with Mama at Nordstrom before lunching with ATC team, Billy, Amanda, Leslie & Ali, and then a visit to Sharon's that afternoon to see Peyton's nursery and playtime
• Friday: SICK mama; Austin stayed home from work and spent the day with her; she didn't see her mom all day for fear that she would get sick!

This time, Beckett got into the bags of clothes that are headed to Goodwill!

These two have had LOTS of 1:1 time! Unfortunately, I came down with a nasty stomach bug Thursday night. It was so bad, Austin had to take off work Friday to be with sweet girl. The two of them had entirely too much fun Friday and today, and took wonderful care of me and the poodles! Love them so much!

Week 40: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 274 (11/9); Beckett at Ben's First Birthday Photo Shoot!

Day 275 (11/10); Being a little cutie before bathtime in her 'docking station' aka bouncer while Dad gets the water ready!

Day 276 (11/11); hard to not get pics during bath being that she's SO happy and hammy during bath! haha She loves playing with her toys and listening to Van Morrison

Day 277 (11/12); Beckett hanging out in her pack & play - trying to get her used to it as there is no way I can even go to the restroom with her 'loose' in the living room!

Day 280 (11/15); Beckett ALWAYS has her tongue out now - it's hilarious - I think it has something to do with her 3 new teeth!

Her Week in a Nutshell:

• Saturday: Morning with Dad; visit to the Turmans for Mr. Andrew's birthday; playtime with Lee; celebrating at Ben's First Birthday party; another Auburn win
• Sunday: Morning with Dad while Mom worked on her first birthday party; family day and afternoon visit from Poppa Paul & Mimi Michelle 
• Monday: Gym Infant Room with Miss Jill and Miss Andrea; afternoon with Mom and evening with family!
• Tuesday: Gym Infant Room with Miss Andrea; afternoon of errands with Mom (grocery store, walgreen's, drycleaner's, etc.)
• Wednesday: Playdate at Lenox Mall with the Pink Pig train - Austin even came!; Infant Room with Miss Andrea
• Thursday: Infant Room with Miss Andrea; Helping Mommy pack for a weekend in Auburn!
• Friday: Morning with dad; drive to Auburn; Mellow Mushroom with Mary, Jimmy & Peter

I walked back from the bathroom and saw this - love seeing my sweet girl surrounded by so many people who love her!

We had a great visit to Auburn this weekend! Austin was off on Friday, so we left town around noon and got there around 2ish. I stopped and bought a new pair of 'cozy boots' and was SO glad I did - we ended up walking a lot! We went by the house and loaded our stuff in and the pups, then headed to Mellow Mushroom for pizza with Mary, Jimmy and Peter. So good catching up with them and letting Beckett get lots of time with her Veloti. Then we headed back to the Cardens and Beckett had time with Teresa & Forrest - so fun! We hung out and talked with everyone then went to sleep - had a big day the next day! Saturday we got up at 5:30 local time to get ready - we were out at the tailgate having a mimosa by 8 a.m. - WOO! We had a great time playing with Beckett out at the tailgate, and walked her around to get her to nap before parking her to sleep. She did great - we're always so proud of her! We spent the day seeing so many great friends - Tyson came by, Andy & David, Austin's parents, Jamie & Candice and their beautiful daughter and family. We bumped into people left and right, Nicole, Justin & Pete, Melanie & Joey, Jama - so many friends, new and old, in and around town and even with the thousands that were there you still bump into people you know - love that! I wish we had gotten more pictures, but it was such a crazy day! All in all, a wonderful weekend and I"m thrilled that Beckett got so much time with our friends in our favorite city!

Beckett & Her Dada Ride the Pink Pig

Sweet Austin took his lunch break at the Pink Pig with Beckett! He met us at Lenox Mall's Macy's for the Pink Pig Train Ride! She rode three times, twice with me and once with Austin - such a little cutie! I was holding her in my lap and they said she had to sit next to me. I was like what? She's not big enough! But she was, she's such a big girl and she did great on the ride just checking things out. Her first coaster - she's so our daughter! :) More pictures coming soon, for now here is a sweet shot of her and her Dada - she lit up and squealed when he showed up at the ticket booth!

Week 39: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 267 (11/2); Protective Daddy is always right there when Beckett pulls up on furniture! 

Day 268 (11/3); playing in the new study/playroom after Dad left for a business trip

Day 269 (11/4); Imitating her poodles, looking out the back door very pleased with her new 'pull up' abilities

Day 270 (11/5); eating her favorite finger food, avocado, with a little mouthful of smirk

Day 271 (11/6); Smiley girl says cheese with cheese in her mouth, her second favorite finger food!

Day 272 (11/7); pictures with Mommy! Hard time getting her to sit still to try to take some 'real camera' vs. iPhone shots

Day 273 (11/8); YAY, dad is back in town and now both of her parents are with her at bath time - she's very excited to have her favorite audience 

Likes:

• bathtime & bath toys - can't get enough
• pulling up on everything, especially her activity table and baby gates (really anything, even if it's only a few inches off the ground - like a shoebox!)
• avocado & cheese finger foods
• her sippy cup - she seems to prefer to do it all by herself these days!
• her dino game - now she can really chase the balls around
• her cabinet - filled with 'safe' Beckett toys & random stuff like toilet paper rolls!
• having her picture taken - she really is a ham!

Dislikes:

• bumping her head (which happens a lot now - sigh)
• having the remote control, iPhone, cord, etc. taken away from her
• being redirected (from said cord, electrical outlets, the dog's water bowl, etc.)
• being in her stroller (I pretty much carry her or wear her everywhere now)

Her Week in a Nutshell: 

• Saturday: Family Day at the house; Auburn Game & Dinner at Miss Lidiya's - playtime with Sophia
• Sunday: Dad left for St. Louis; Day with Mom at the house; Visit to Whole Foods 
• Monday: Infant Room at gym with Miss Andrea; Shopping to Pottery Barn & Janie & Jack; visit from Miss Lidiya & Sophia with Tomato Soup for Mommy!
• Tuesday:Infant Room at gym with Miss Andrea; 
• Wednesday: Shopping with Mom at Phipps Nordstrom; Visit with Miss Brittany & Dr. Jenn at the chiropractor; walk to Miss Lidiya's for playtime & happy hour
• Thursday: Infant Room at gym with Miss Laura; photo shoot with Mommy
• Friday: Infant Room at gym; quick visit to Miss Chanel's to drop off items for Ben's First Birthday Party; Family night - Dad is back in town - woo!!

You Will Be Mine, O-Ball

Found this post from September 29 that I forgot to post! She was learning how to crawl by chasing her O-Ball around. Even now, 6 weeks later, she still loves this toy. I know 6 weeks isn't a lot for adults but in baby land it is significant!

I've got my eyes on you . . . 

But I'm tired... I don't know if I have the energy to pursue you.

Nope, I'm gonna do it. I'm after you, O-Ball. You will be mine!

Beckett's First Halloween

WOO - Beckett's first Halloween has already come and gone. I kind of can't believe it. This time last year I never would have imagined being able to spend the whole day with her and other moms, kiddos, families, celebrating and taking pictures, cooking, etc. We had a wonderful day and I definitely think Beckett got to experience the many traditions of Halloween, even though she is still a little bit. Special thanks to my mom and sis for helping me with Beckett's Halloween costume, my neighbor Shauna for giving us her black foam for the ghost face, Chanel for hosting such a great Halloween party, Krista for hosting the luncheon, Joleen, Sarah & Chanel for sharing their photos so I could put together this post, and Austin for leaving work early to spend as much time with his little girl as possible. Such a fun day! It went a little something like this:

• 7 a.m. Up and at 'em for morning bottle, playtime with mom and poodles, finger foods (bananas!), baby foods and then more playtime!
• 9 a.m. Naptime - need to get a good one in - big day ahead! During nap, Mom made spider dip 1 of 2 and got everything ready for Party #1!
• 10:30 a.m. Loaded into car for Party #1 - a get together at Krista's with her son Jason, Maggie and her daughter Bonnie, Ashley and her son Graham, Joleen and her son Ben, Tracie and her son Jake, and Kari and her daughter Estella. Krista's in-laws hosted and have their whole basement set up for littles, complete with an inflatable "cabin" and lots of toys. The kids loved it and Beckett had so much fun keeping up with the "big kids" and learning how to interact with different toys from them. She spent most of her time trying to eat the 'finger foods' they dropped and trying to lift up on everything, especially this little play kitchen! Krista has gotten a big chick-fil-a platter, everyone brought a dish, and Maggie made treat bags for all the kids - such a fun party!
• 1 p.m. Back at home for nap before Party #2 - great big 2-hour nap while Mom made spider dip 2 of 2 and got everything ready for Party #2!
• 3 p.m. Up for bottle and playtime with mom and poodles before Dad got home early at 4! We did a little photo shoot with Beckett, Reuben & Remy - so cute! Beckett could not have been happier - squealing and clapping her hands getting to sit up on the couch with her poodles - she loves them SO much.
• 4:15 p.m. Loaded into car for Party #2 - a get together at Chanel's with her husband Jan and son Henry, Sarah and her husband Jared and son Gavin, Joleen and her husband Ben and son Ben, Josie and her husband Nick and son Roman, and Meghan and her husband Jay and daughter Harper. Chanel had done a beautiful taco bar and decorated her home so well for the party. They have a great carpeted play area complete with a barn door - Beckett LOVED playing with his toys and with Harper, baby girl closest in age to her.
• 5:45 p.m. Trick-or-treating! Beckett and the kiddos did great and hit up about 4 houses in Chanel & Jan's neighborhood. Such fun - she even got candy and got to use her sweet little monogrammed basket from her Great Aunt Missy!
• 6:30 p.m. Bath and bedtime for one exhausted baby girl. She loved playing with all of her little friends at both parties - I will never get over seeing her interact with new faces and people and just smile so big like, "look, mama - I'm having fun!" It's the best.
