Easter 2014: Beckett's First Egg Hunt

Laura put all of the Beckett-safe stuffed eggs in one place - but she wouldn't have it - she wanted to be with the big kids!

So fun to see her carry a basket and load it up - all by herself. Yes, sometimes she would spill 4 to get 1 but it was so adorable to see her participating like a little girl

Such a fun visit to the farm. Becket loved the hunt, and she also loved seeing everyone, playing with the storm door, exploring their home, riding around with Uncle Terry on the tractors and carts seeing the land, playing with the kids who were all so sweet to her, walking around with Laura - the list goes on. She really had a blast and well did - wonderful Easter 2014!

Week 60: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 4/14 (3/29); out in Athens with Dad,Mimi and Poppa at La Dolce Vita

Day 415 (3/30); At the doctor - mom is sick with a stomach bug :(

Day 416 (3/31); Beckett climbs up on furniture in about 3 seconds flat - oy!

Day 417 (4/1); cutie girl smiles big for the camera!

Day 4/18 (4/2); strolling!

Day 419 (4/3); Out with Dad to Home Depot & Pike Nurseries to get ready for a weekend of gardening!

Day 420 (4/4); Fun Day with Dad at Catch Air and out to eat for pizza

Likes:

• spending so much 1:1 time with Daddy!
• exploring the new Athens condo!
• saying bye bye and waving at everyone and everything (including rooms haha)
• pushing the cozy coupe around at Catch Air (and letting dad push her)
• playing in the backyard and watching daddy garden
• throwing the tennis ball with Reuben (he didn't have nearly as much fun)
• eggplant and meatballs at La Dolce Vita
• climbing on everything - tables, luggage rack, etc.
• making friends in restaurants (smiling, waving, being sweet!)
• playing with big girls at the playground
• eating goldfish out of Easter eggs (at Caroline's second birthday party!)
• cleaning up - she loves to hold a canister or bin and pick up thing and put them inside! She does this at home a lot and did it at Lee's, too!

Dislikes:

• Nothing new - diaper changes, clothing changes, having face wiped down after meals, etc.

Her Week in a Nutshell:

• Saturday: adventure with dad to overnight trip to Athens while mom stayed back for Chanel's birthday dinner (and got to shop solo!)
• Sunday: day in Athens with dad and family evening home with mom; went to doctor with mom (mom has stomach bug!)
• Monday: day at home with mom
• Tuesday: play date at lee's while mom got phone fixed; afternoon walk with baby Finley; playground with baby Peyton
• Wednesday: toddler room at gym in morning; afternoon play date visit with baby Kinley
• Thursday: day with dad while mom flew to Miami for girls weekend!
• Friday: day with dad including Catch Air and dinner to Pepperoni's 

Week 59: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 407 (3/22); celebrating at Cousin Dane's Birthday

Day 408 (3/22); trying on new rompers in this awesome warm weather - can't get enough of these fabulous baby legs!

Day 409 (3/23); bathtime selfie with mama (sent to Dad who was in Texas!)

Day 410 (3/24); our little climber - if I give her 5 seconds with my back turned she is on a piece of furniture clapping and smiling - eek - we're in trouble!

Day 411 (4/25); silly girl so excited to have Miss Melissa and baby McKenna over!

Day 412 (4/26); reaching for the phone while I try to get a picture of her new moccs!

Day 413 (4/27); looking itty bitty at the mall's indoor playground

I don't really know that it's likes and dislikes but it's like everything is clicking this month, especially this week. She is spending more time putting things together then taking them apart; she's pointing so much more and trying to communicate; she's making connections and showing she understands what you're saying - it's wild. Here are some examples of what is feeling like miracles as things are just clicking!

• cleaning up her toys (picking up bath toys to put in the bin; picking up blocks with you to put in the basket)
• handing her a piece of "mail" for her Fisher Price town center and saying "put the mail in the mail slot" - she'll walk across the room and put it in! 
• giving her a toy or book and saying "give this to dada" - she'll smile, take it from you, and walk it over to him 
• asking her to push the baby's belly button (does so immediately - getting great with 'nose', 'mouth', 'eyes' and belly button - can point to her own and yours (not consistently yet with anything but belly button)
• putting the 4 alphabet soup containers back into the can, then putting the lid on
• using the garage door opener to make it open and close (really making everything open and close -  cabinets, the trash can, her play kitchen oven, etc.) she understands these words well!
• getting books off of her shelf or bin and handing them to you then sitting in your lap to do them
• putting in puzzle pieces (usually gets 2 before she's off to the next thing)
• putting shapes in shape sorter (same as puzzle - about 2 before she's off)

Outside of these 'fun miracles' - we're also surprised to see her separation anxiety increasing some days to where we can barely set her down. Especially when she's feeling poorly - it's nearly impossible to be separated from her (e.g., on Dane's birthday she wouldn't sit next to him for a photo unless we were holding her; sometimes I have to leave the gym as she won't settle in the toddler room and cries until I get there). I don't know if it's part of a growth spurt or a phase (doc says both - combined with teething!) but either way I'm trying hard to not let it frustrate me and just enjoy it as a I know one day she'll probably want nothing to do with me! So if she spends the next month in my lap I'll take it! :)

Her Week in a Nutshell

• Saturday: cousin Dane's third birthday celebration at the park; Easter photo shoot with Miss Joleen and a bunny named biscuit; park meet up with the rollers; bath with dad while mom went to Josie's for store stuff
• Sunday: family day! Tried a new church and Beckett did great in the 11 - 13 month nursery room with 5 other precious kiddos
• Monday: toddler room at the gym! Dad in Texas so day with mama!
• Tuesday: visit to see miss Chanel and sugar boo; shopping with mama and Chanel; dad home early from Texas!
• Wednesday: morning play date at Henry's new playroom; afternoon play date at our house with McKenna
• Thursday: toddler room at gym; evening family walk with Sharon and baby Peyton
• Friday: visit to mall playground; visit from Monica

Week 58: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 400 (3/15); Playing with the car table at Brady's third birthday party at Catch Air!

Day 401 (3/16); out to eat with Mom & Dad!

Day 402 (3/17); putting up the groceries! 

Day 403 (3/18); drinking milk with her doggy

Day 404 (3/19: climbing stairs with a fisher price egg yolk

Day 405 (3/20); bathtime with mama!

Day 406 (3/21); playing with her riding car in her PJs

Likes:

• playing with her neighbors at the playground - she has really had lots of fun times with them lately
• sunglasses
• the boat the fischer's - she had TOO much fun pretending to steer and letting Emily pull her around!
• climbing the playground then trying to go down the slide face first
• using her stroller as a ladder
• mum mums - her friend Will shared with her and she loved it
• sharing - she loves finding things then giving them to other people - it's pretty cute - it's like she wants to see their reaction to what she has
• pushing around her riding car (still working on figuring out how to operate it)
• helping mommy - I can give her a paper towel and she goes to town wiping things down; she helps me unload the groceries giving me one thing at a time - it's so sweet!

Dislikes:

• nothing new really - having her diaper changed, having her face wiped down after eating, etc. I will say she's gotten much better with car rides and with stroller rides - she tolerates them and almost seems to enjoy them more!

Her Week in a Nutshell:

• Saturday: Brady's birthday at catch air; family dinner out
• Sunday: family day at home
• Monday: toddler room at gym; play date with McKenzie (her and her mom Ashley came over!)
• Tuesday: shopping with mommy for new online store; night with dad while mom went to Josie's for help with the store
• Wednesday: mommy and Beckett day at home sick with colds :(
• Thursday: toddler room at gym: Home Depot, Target and kid 2 kid with mom; park play date and over to the Fischer's for happy hour fun! (Beckett is obsessed with the Fischer kids - they are so sweet with her and have an amazing basement packed with toys!!)
• Friday: toddler room at gym; errands with mom; afternoon with dad while mom met Monica for lunch; park meet up with the Rollers and Hornfecks
