Strollin...

On Beckett's 28th day (i.e., the day she hit 1 month!), we finally had a pretty day so Beckett and I took to the streets! (of the neighborhood that is) We strolled all through the neighborhood - SO pretty. She loved it. Love = slept the whole time but did make a few frowny faces when we hit bumps and she wasn't a huge fan of when the stroller stopped (similar to the car!).

I didn't have my "good camera" but did snap this iPhone shot. Since then, we've taken a few walks a week - she sleeps through them but seems to enjoy getting out and about.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

We didn't have our annual St. Paddy's Beer Fest, but family movie day with this little one was just as fun! (albeit a very different kind of fun). Cheers! And special thanks to Aunt Missy and Uncle George for the seasonal outfit!

Week 5: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 29 (3/9);  Beckett's profile - we love those cheeks!
Day 30 (3/10): Silly smile during playtime on her boppy lounger
Day 31 (3/11): Looking less than confident during bath time - love the hands!
Day 32 (3/12): Tight fists during feeding time - and looking milk drunk as usual!
Day 33 (3/13): Family time after bath time - she's getting so much bigger!
Day 34 (3/14): Propped up in polka dots - such long legs!
Day 35 (3/15): NOT loving being a penguin. at. all.
Likes:
  • Her new bottles; Moms on Call told us to ditch the Avent bottles for these Gerber first essential bottles and she seems to like them a lot - much less fussy! (so we like them better, too!)
  • Visitors; this week she saw Crystal, Monica and her Mimi - lots of
  • Staring at faces - she's gotten to where she'll really look at you
  • Making sounds - last week it was more about making faces then sounds, this week she makes a lot of little coos (lots of 'eh' and 'aw')
  • Stretching - when we take Beckett out of her swaddle her arms pop STRAIGHT up and she stretches for a good 3 minutes - it's adorable
Dislikes:
  • Being cold - we're still getting bathtime down and while she enjoys the bath, it's after that she is not pleased until we get her clothed again.

Everyone's a Comedian

We recently confirmed, yet again, that we have some very funny family and friends. Here are a few of Beckett's pics we've seen with some slight edits...

Sam and Sandy Gannaway think Beckett has a very bright future ahead of her... clearly not at Auburn. haha
And her Uncle Tyler thinks she looks like a Zoolander character... and she kind of does LOL

Week 4: 7 Days of Beckett (1 Month Old!)

Day 22 (3/2): Beckett snoozes on Emily
Day 23 (3/3): Beckett makes funny faces at her dad
Day 24 (3/4): Beckett dreams away before wake-up time
Day 25 (3/5): Beckett gets a kiss and practices 'kiss face'
Day 26 (3/6): Her 'wow' face - she sees something and we don't know what it is; usually it's a light!
Day 27 (3/7): Attempting tummy time again - she goes from content to frustrated in a bout a millisecond
Day 28 (3/8): Enjoying her 'big girl' bath exactly one month after her arrival (well 3 hours before exactly one month but we weren't going to keep her up until 11 p.m. to celebrate - bedtime is 9 p.m.!)
Likes:

  • Bath Time - she is so over sponge baths but LOVES the big bath so long as we keep her covered up and keep it quick - she seems so peaceful during this time and I love that we do them each day now
  • Bed Time - after her bath we spend 30 minutes in her room as a family (pups, too!) listening to her 'Bach wind down' music and reading - she seems to love this time
  • Strolling - we went out strolling and she did great (so long as we kept it moving - kind of like the car!)
  • Her new big, flannel swaddle blanket (she has yet to escape it!)
Dislikes:
  • Manicures - she did okay when the Moms on Call nurse came out, but I am definitely not eager to do it on my own yet
  • Saline + Syringe bulb - again, the nurse did this and she freaked out. In fact, the nurse said if she doesn't freak out you're doing it wrong. Well there you go!
We CANNOT believe that she is already one month old. We've already had so much fun with her and just love to her death. She is a sweet, happy, beautiful doll and we're so glad that she is doing so well with her new '4 - 8 week schedule' - girlfriend loves a schedule, is such a good eater, is a great sleeper (so long as she is swaddled with her sound machine cranked UP!) and is just really thriving. She does produce an extraordinary amount of dirty diapers each day, and isn't a huge fan of burping, but we love her anyway. haha Can't wait to see what Month 2 brings!!

Week 3: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 15 (2/23): Making silly faces
Day 16 (2/24): Crossed eyes during first Tummy Time attempt
Day 17 (2/25): Before being woken up for a daytime feeding - so sweet before she freaks out during diaper changes
Day 18 (2/26): Exhausted but NOT wanting to go to sleep! So an overtired shot  just before a big yawn and bedtime
Day 19 (2/27): Beckett's 'I''m not a fan of this' face - we see it a lot more lately! She knows what she wants for sure
Day 20 (2/28): Beckett as a Zebra post-bath
Day 21 (3/1): Beckett profile shot while wearing her new dress and looking out the window for her guests to arrive
Likes:

  • Her schedule. Believe us, she got off schedule this weekend and it wasn't awesome.
  • Big fluffy towels
  • Being slowly woken up from her daytime naps
  • Making LOTS of silly faces
  • Looking out windows - she loves the sunlight
Dislikes:
  • Getting off schedule (see above)
  • Waiting for her parents to figure out how much to feed her during her growth spurt
  • Having things put over her head (e.g., clothes)
