Week 27: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 182 (8/10); Beckett celebrating Gavin's first birthday - we tried to get her shot in the little Dr. Seuss photo booth area - she was like what?! haha
Day 183 (8/11); Sweet Beckett gave us awesome foo foo face while getting used to the water in her little mushroom pool
Day 184 (8/12); Beckett smiles hard with the birthday boy - Austin turned 33 on 8/12 and Beckett gave him her footprint for his birthday for his office!
Day 185 (8/13); Austin turned the camera on me and Becks - she is such a smiley, photogenic little baby
Day 186 (8/14); Mid-food. haha Beckett is in the highchair now and we're just not believing she's big enough for it already! She's doing great with her solids, despite the mess it makes, and loves sitting here so she can see out the window!
Day 187 (8/15); Beckett is smiley during her nighttime bottle with her Mimi who visited for a few days!
Day 188 (8/16); Beckett SERIOUSLY bounces in the jumperoo now. She can't get enough of it!!
Likes:
  • Moving around in her crib - she almost always moves to her tummy now - crazy!
  • Dropping things - she purposely drops them, especially off her high chair and watches them fall
  • Plums - she especially likes them mixed with other favorite fruits like apples and pears
  • Highchair - I think she likes sitting at the table at eye level
  • Mushroom pool/pool toys - once she got used to the water she did great and really seemed to enjoy herself
  • Peekaboo Blanket - she loves when you drape a big blanket over her (like squeals when it's about to cover her), then pull it off quickly saying peekaboo!
  • Slurping noises/eating sounds - they make her smile and laugh!
  • Activity bar in her carseat - another great loan from cousin Dane that has kept her entertained
Dislikes:
  • Other babies crying - she got really upset when one of her little friends was upset - like imitated the same whines even though nothing was wrong!
  • Sunshine - she still gets really squirmy and uncomfortable with direct sunlight
  • Her shots - obviously - who likes being pricked with needles?
Her Week in a Nutshell:

Becks and Mom

Austin got some great shots of me and little Beckett one night before her bedtime. Love our snuggly time. Love not wearing makeup. Could hold this smiley sweetie forever!

Week 26: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 175 (8/3); Playing with Daddy while testing out one of her new headbands and her new polo romper (which is hilarious - baby rompers, what will they think of next?)
Day 176 (8/4); showing off her awesome baby legs in her walker! She reverses better than she drives, unlike her mom.
Day 177 (8/5); practicing sitting up! She's still not quite sure about it yet.
Day 178 (8/6); Becks in her bib on her back next to her bunny - cuteness
Day 179 (8/7); Becks bundled up post-bath teething. Notice she cut her little eye in her sleep - eek! We can't keep these fingernails clipped and filed enough for this little girl!
Day 180 (8/8/); I'm half a year old!
Day 181 (8/9); Pure joy! This is the face/angle we see a lot as she rolls around being silly on her playmat
Likes:
  • Moving the new car - she was able to reverse it 10 feet or so.
  • Practicing sitting up - she can definitely hold herself up a bit on her hands (like a tripod as Austin says!)
  • Wash cloth teethers - when Austin gets home he gives her one and she sucks it down while watching Jeopardy
  • Her puppers - she is truly fascinated by them and animals - we love that about her!
  • Holding her feet - she now grasps both in her hands and balls up into a little egg. She also puts them in her mouth. lol
  • Ibuprofen - we hadn't given her any medicine up until this point (just Tylenol once after shots and it made her drowsy) - but now that she's 6 months we can help ease her teething pain with Ibuprofen which doesn't make her drowsy but REALLY relieves some of her pain.
Dislikes:
  • Bananas - she didn't like them at first, but they grew on her especially when mixed with favorites like apples and pears
  • Her tooth coming in - she has a sharp little guy popping through on bottom and it's causing her a lot of discomfort
Her Week in a Nutshell:
  • Saturday: 2nd photo shoot with Jolene for House of Mia; Visit from Scott and Mary Lengel
  • Sunday: Visit from her Gigi and Mr. Steve
  • Monday: Visit to the Infant Room with Miss Shannon
  • Tuesday: Visit to the Infant Room with Miss Andrea
  • Wednesday: Rainy day in with Mom
  • Thursday: Visit to Macy's; visit to the Infant Room with Miss Andrea; turned 6 months old at 11:30 p.m.!

Pool Time Take 2

WHAT'S NOT TO GET?! I don't like water. Stop trying to force it on me. I've been so good all day and don't know why you're doing this to me!!

Fine. I get it. You want me to like water so that one day I can swim and visit the ocean and be safe. SIGH.

Wait a minute... there's stuff I can play with in here? Well... I guess that's kinda cool..

Can I put it in my mouth?! Doesn't really make this tooth feel better... hmmm.

My water toys?! I love my water toys. Normally they're in the water, and i'm in your lap, but now i'm with them. And i'm sitting up a little. Okay, this is pretty cool. I won't cry next time... maybe.

Yay! Thanks for taking me out, Dad! That was fun but enough is enough! Go change my diaper. Thanks, lova ya, mean it.

Beckett Road Tests her Highchair

Our sleepy little six-month-old had her breakfast at the table like a big girl! For us? Egg, black bean and avocado burritos. For her? Oats mixed with apples, pears and her new fruit: banana. She is a great little eater, although we had to cut it shorter than normal to put this sleepyhead down for a nap! Happy Sunday! :)

I Found My Feet, I Kind of Sit Up, I am Very Silly!

A collection of iPhone shots from yesterday with this happy Beckett girl!
I can't get enough of my feet. They are fascinating.
I kind of sit up, when my mom props me up and balances me just right. After a few seconds I usually fall forward and try to flip onto my tummy!
I'm really silly. I like to eat my dresses and show my belly while kicking my legs and making pterodactyl noises.
I like to play, but LOVE to play if I can watch myself in the mirror. And if someone is there with me it makes it more fun. This is my sassy floor mirror.
I like to share my toys with my pupper Reuben. He normally pays me very little attention, but if I have a toy, especially one that makes noise, Reuben will pretend to be my bestie until he gets my toy.

Day 170 (7/28); Becks clasps her little hands for the first time in a sweet photo with her Mimi during their visit (yes, she's covered in drool - shocker lol)
Day 171 (7/29); happy post-bath Beckett about to be dried off!
Day 171 (7/30); Beckett Grace is driving already! She is loving her walker from her Aunt Sharon, Uncle Terry, and cousins Laura and Kevin
Day 172 (7/31); Sweet Beckett girl in her ruffle tights and flower onesie propped up on the sofa on a rainy day in with mom and the pups
Day 173 (8/1); trying on accessories with mommy - this was a little headband her Mimi got her!
Day 174 (8/2); Morning playtime with Mom - loving her wooden rings, noisemakers and small crinkly toys
Likes:

  • The light-up floor at Catch Air
  • "driving" in her new black car
  • Having her photo taken
  • Beginning to clasp her hands together
  • Beginning to sit up/stand up - she is so proud of herself when she discovers that she's doing it more and more on her own!
Dislikes:
  • Dropping things and not being able to get them (she dropped one of her washcloth teethers when she was strapped into her bouncer and it really upset her when she couldn't reach it to get it!)
  • Her bottles- I think she's more into solids these days and hasn't finished a bottle in a long time!
