Love This Shot

Snagged with my phone this afternoon while she was playing with her puzzle pieces - love this little 13-month-old sweetie!

Week 56: 7 Days of Beckett

Day 386 (3/1); loving her weekend with dad at home!
Day 387 (3/2); we've been trying to take more video now that she's mobile and walking all over the place (like walking, walking - can't count steps anymore) - anyway, the only downside for us is that she wants to hold the video camera
Day 388 (3/3); Beckett in her spring jams playing with school bus and picnic - girl can't get get enough of toys with handles that she can carry around!
Day 389 (3/4); Still loving her cabinet - she plays 'open and close' and is excited to pull everything out and try to get in!
Day 390 (3/5); Reading bedtime books with Daddy
Day 391 (3/6); Clapping hands with mama and the poodles
Day 392 (3/7); Sweet bedtime simile while reading books with Daddy

Beckett's Butterflies & Polka Dots First Birthday Party

Beckett has always been drawn to her Lamaze butterfly hanging toy. It was the first one she reached for, and ever since it has hung on her infant car seat and helped us through many a car ride, meal time and general fussy periods. The back of the butterfly is black and white polka dots, and with her room being orange, gray and black I just knew we had to do butterflies and polka dots for little Beckett!

We got incredibly lucky with the weather - a day in the low 60's in between two snow storms that literally shut down Atlanta.

Her birthday fell on a Saturday so we had the party on the date exactly, from 3 -5 p.m.

We were so grateful for all who could come over to celebrate with us, including:

  • Beckett's Gigi, Aunt Devon, Uncle Zach & Cousin Dane
  • Beckett's Mimi, Poppa, & Uncle Elliot
  • Beckett's Great-Grandfather Audi, Miss Mary, Great Uncle Terry, Great Aunt Sharon & Cousin Laura
  • Uncle Jim Frost
  • Velotas Family - Jimmy, Mary, Emma & Michael
  • Prance Family - Crystal, Jason & Grady
  • Carroll Family - John, Jennifer & Brady
  • Young Family - Stevens, Karly, Charlotte, & Caroline
  • Blanco Family - Andy & Monica
  • Feneck Family - Josie, Nick & Roman
  • Walter Family - Meghan, Jay & Harper
  • Pete Family - Joleen, Ben & Ben
  • Piccinni Family - Tracie, Guido & Jake
  • Johnson Family - Sarah, Jared & Gavin
  • van Reenen Family - Chanel, Jan & Henry
  • Mittelbronn Family - Melissa, Jon, Madison & McKenna
  • Roller Family - Sharon, Jamie & Peyton
  • Seaman Family - Ruje & Mark
  • Porter Family - Pat & Vivian (Cousin Dane's Grandparents!)
  • Turman Family - Andrew, Laura Anne & Lee

Such a fun group! Made us even more grateful that we were able to use the backyard! The kids mostly played outside in Beckett's tunnel & in friend Henry's ball pit and tent that he loaned us! We also played inside some as the weather would be warm one minute, then chilly the next!

Adults were in and out, and the Olympics started that day so we had that on. Beckett seemed to have an absolute ball. She really seems to like having guests over and was loving the ball pit and seeing all of her friends and just playing with family - it was so fun and hilarious to see her try cake for the first time (at first she was unsure - then she was in!)

I was really happy with how all the crafts, food, sweets, decorations, photo booth and everything turned out!

Such a perfect day! I only regret not getting pics of more of our friends and families who attended. Here are some of the beautiful photos Zach took of Beckett on her special day.

I am 1!

Beautiful Photo taken by my talented Uncle Zach - me in my favorite place - my room!
  • I am 29.5 inches tall.
  • I weigh 19 pounds and 3 ounces
  • I have 12 teeth (7 that are very in and 5 that are in various stages of in)
  • I love being chased by my daddy, my mom singing to me, high fives, waving, swinging, clapping hands, peek-a-boo, and everything about my doggies (chasing them, petting them, trying to feed them, seeing them walk into a room, etc.).
  • My favorite food is beans, black beans or green beans! I love food though, all food. Favorite meats: chicken & turkey; favorite fruits: avocado, strawberries, melon, bananas, blueberries, grapes, oranges, pineapple, apples, mango; favorite vegetables: peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash. I also like my new snack food: mini goldfish that I feed myself in the car out of my snack trap!
  • My favorite book is Pat the Zoo (especially the red feathers and the lion's mane). I also love all Karen Katz flip books, my bath book by Sandra Boynton (it squeaks!) and It's Time for Bed - my parents read this to me every night!
  • My favorite toy is my naptime Glowworm. I also love books, my kitchen, walkers, balls, and blocks (anything I can bang together).
  • My favorite time of day is bath time. I love to splash around, play with my toys, read my bath book and suck on my wash cloths.
  • I wear a size 2/3 shoe, and 6 - 12 month clothes. My birthday dress fit perfect and it was size 9-month.
  • My nicknames include Beckarito, BG, Scooter, Beckers, B, Becks and Beck Beck.
  • I've traveled to Birmingham, the lake, Auburn and Colorado.
  • I can say dada, mama, doggy, baba, hi, and shoe. My first word was dada.
  • I can pull myself up and stand, take steps, drink from a straw, put myself to sleep (with the help of my thumb!) and climb stairs!
  • My favorite song is The Wheels on the Bus. I also love The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, This Little Light of Mine, You are My Sunshine, Jesus Loved the Little Children, Picking up a Baby Bumblebee, and Hi I'm Beckett (sung to the tune of Brother John!)
  • Dad and Mom say everyone loves my big happy toothy smile, my curls and my bright eyes!

Family Post-Park

We went back over to Newtown Park on Sunday to let the dogs play, then let Beckett play! Her playground was super crowded due to a birthday party in progress, so she wasn't able to swing. We decided to head out and just swing across the street in our neighborhood playground. She wasn't pleased... the dogs were though!
Reuben was SO happy to be there! LOL

Day 380 (2/23); Enjoying her first time on a horsie at Newtown Park

Day 284 (2/27); Having a Berry good day! haha She seriously loves berries - this snack was black berries, raspberries, blue berries and strawberries!
Day 385 (2/28); Having her fruit pouch - these have been great for snacks - so glad I made them and that she likes them with her punchtop - weirds me out that I don't have to help her with them anymore!
Likes:
  • Walking - she took so many steps and series of steps!
  • eating her own pouches
  • ball pit

  • eating with a spoon - the scooping part is tough but she is good at getting food in her mouth!
  • feeding others
  • talking nonstop (it sounds like a foreign mumble - it's kind of awesome)
  • sunglasses - they are her favorite "toy" - thankfully she doesn't seem to care if they are adult ones or kid ones... so we try to make sure she has kid ones!
  • climbing - can't stop her - if I turn around she is trying to pull up on a chair, climb the dog steps , use the ottoman to get to the couch to stand on it - ah!
  • facetiming - if she gets one of our phones we'll facetime her from the other - she loves it
  • xylophone  - especially the sticks!
  • the dog park - she almost glazes over in wonder watching all the different dogs run around
Dislikes:
  • being further than three feet away from mom
